Project Closure

Definition: Confirmation that the project has met all customer requirements for the product of the project (the customer has formally accepted the project results and deliverables and the requirements of the delivering organization—for example, staff evaluations, budget reports, lessons learned, etc.).

Generally accepted

Alternative or Related Terms: Administrative closure; contract closeout

Application Areas/Intended Uses: Project closure is an output of the administrative closure process.

Chief Advantages: Project closure is the documented evidence that the information formalizing completion of a phase or project has been generated, gathered, and disseminated to the appropriate stakeholders.
